Professional Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received a master’s of social work degree from Boston University. I am licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCS20789) and am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, The National Association of Perinatal Social Workers and am a member of the NICU Patient Family Advisory Board at California Pacific Medical Center-San Francisco and a member of the Parent Advisory Counsel at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
I have worked for many years in community hospitals and within the VA Health Care setting providing inpatient and outpatient psychosocial support to adults with complex medical and psychological needs. This has included individuals with chronic care issues and those who have experienced trauma, neglect, and unexpected loss. Additionally, I have worked with individuals transitioning into end-of-life and have provided support with decision-making, long-term planning and spiritual considerations. I have been a Peer Mentor through Hand To Hold and through California Pacific Medical Center-San Francisco. I received my training in EMDR through EMDRIA/Touchstone Institute and in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International. In addition to private practice I also offer counseling through Mother Care-Petaluma.
